Iraq's 'Lions of Mesopotamia' - 25 July 07

Iraq's national football team beat South Korea in Kuala Lumpur in the semi-final of the Asian Football Cup 2007.

The 'Lions of Mesopotamia' booked their place into the final of the Asian Cup by winning 4-3 on penalties after the game finished scoreless after extra-time.

The soccer team did not have to be tortured to win, and they did it together as a nation.
