Was I hearing the word HaShem? Isn't that like a reverent Name for G-d? I'd love to know what the lyrics are and what they mean. Of course, I see the comment concerning Ex 15:1. That's the song of Moses after crossing the Red Sea on dry ground! Could you expound on that a bit please?

@pike942 Thanks for listening. The term "Hashem" simply means "The Name" and is used amongst many religious jews as a way to refer to God in common speech, and in many cases, in song that is being sung outside of the context of a formal prayer setting. The vese from Exodus come from what is often known as "The Song of the Sea," which as spontaneous expression of the Jewish people's gratitude, and praise towards God for freeing them from slavery in Egypt, through song.
