@rnrjunkie44 I love our guys and girls in service to the country. If I had it in me, and or if it ever comes the day, I'll stand and fight along side you guys. But I'm afraid the scenario that I pointed out is going to happen one day. And I know that some will follow orders. Thank God hopefully the majority will not. No matter what their COs say. But I fear the training at some level destroys conscious. What would be the percentage if you could fathom a guess. That would stand w/ the people?

@rnrjunkie44 is abrogated, at least to me, in "don't EVER question orders no matter what" mentality? Like, would it be possible to pump a Marine or any other branch's soldier into such a frenzy that they would throw away that part that says "Whoa, wait a minute...this is wrong...no...can't comply with that order. It's against the Constitution (or God or family or law..fill in the blank with what you will)."? Get you guys so immune to the shock of violence that it doesn't register anymore?

@rnrjunkie44 Honest question here....do you think that training, and that mentality that is drilled home like that, that suppression control that, as evidenced in videos sometimes, maybe even often, fails; do you think that the Marines are out to circumvent any feelings or delay if and when a takeover ever comes along and the COs command their men to fire on American citizens if it ever comes to that? Like, I know they drill God, family and country into you, but, def seems like that often times

This is def reality in the marines to me.I mean some guys pissed their pants when the DIs got in their faces.Some cried,some got mad and those were bait for DIs in my platoon.Once they get to ya, theyd fuck with you everyday til you learned 2 control it.And yeah breakups happen often and you cant help to have sympathy for em but there is no sympathy in the marines.DIs arent military counselors.They are our trainers to get us ready for war.Jarhead is as real as it gets in military films today.

this scene is bullshit. this doesnt happen. this is a recruit war story (a.k.a. lie). D.I. s are marines who make marines and this shit is hollywood bullshit . dont fall for this crap. so tired of fresh marines coming home o leave with horror stories of this and that. i served and the worst i ever seen was foot lockers getting dumped in the shower in one huge pile with recruits pouring liquid detergent on the pile. then we thrashed for 20mins. nothing big.
