ATTN: Due to copyright issues the audio had to be "swapped" so please ignore the credits. The original song and concept pertained to Gotta Be Somebody's Blues by Jimmy Eat World. The new song (34 ghosts IV by Nine Inch Nails) slightly compromises things but if I want the vid public I don't have much of a choice; I already lost the 'Lullaby' fanvid because of similar restrictions. If interested in the original version contant me. :)

Because his language is colour...

Where you gonna go if they come for you?
Will there be someone left to sing your blues?
Where you gonna run when they come for you?
Will there be someone to sing your blues?

Music outta speakers, ah, the theatre of the mind. Love this medium because there's no fantastic motion picture, not everything is filled in and presented before you... the message is ambiguous and the experience is live, unique and intimate. Unlike television where one simply dreams someone else's dreams, where it becomes an abdication of a 'teacher's' role. When I listen I know where I am, I choose what to listen to and what lyrics and thoughts to attend to. I'm not babysat by norms and morays, I'm guided by wisdom that's simply regulated by melody. But it's still coming to me through the filter of it's composer, isn't it? To me there is no such thing as hearing wrong, there is simply hearing differently. The same can be said of seeing and all other sensations.

That is to say that the application of 'how to' and 'why' has individual value. My basis of knowing what is true -what my 'blues' is- comes through my own experience, it isn't society that determines it, nor genetics or whatever it comes from me. Categorical blue does not truly exist, despite what patriarchy might tell you. Be aware of different gradients, one 'blue' is no good without the other because one is only as good as the other. We all work from different pallets; my content is not your content, Kyo's blue is not your blue but that does not mean one cannot respect another's BLUE by trying to see it. But one can't go 0 to 60 in 3 seconds... understanding takes time. The injunction here: the intelligence that encompasses what an individual is, is incomprehensible to all but the individual so to attempt to make an image does justice to no one. In other words, we have to walk with people to know how they walk, think with them to know how they think... be open to see their way to know their way lest it be an image. It takes refereeing, yes?

We have to stop telling ourselves the same stories; "I can't change....", "I know this... I know that... I know him...", continuing to do so asserts to false omniscience and last time I checked humans were not Gods who could give leopards stripes and tigers spots. But we have things that haunt us, we make our pains and scripts ghost slaves, that loom and suck up our life force, or go even so far as pumping it into us, like "ghost Iv's", yes? But the great thing about will power is that with it, one can distiguish themselves, one can get away from determinism if they choose right. See differently.

Both songs have foregone conclusions, I wanna focus on the original. It says, if not my blues, it's gotta be someone else's. I.E blues/the state of melancholy is an inevitable state, maybe even innate? But if we act on inner knowing and timing we don't have to be programed for anything be it sadness, doom and whatever stands to adjudge. Once we realize it's a program we can drop it, more to the point, once we realize there are different colours we don't see everything in BLUE...

  • i LOVE the video but i don´t like the song you choosed :S

  • The feeling I had watching this one ? Being in a dragon's stomac...weird !

  • I'd type more, but that would mean more comments than just these three... stupid youtube character limit. (Though, I guess that is there for a reason... for people like me. eheheh)

Point is, love the video, love the style.

I thought of this when I listened to the music...

'You can walk with me and talk with me. Live with me for a millenia. Even if you can never fully know me, you will be that much closer to understanding me and my sins.'

(Read from first comment to most recent.)

  • Take away the words, and one is left with only a few notes. Those few notes can mean much more.

I love the lyric-less concept of this one. Reminds me of hearing ones thoughts, minus the words. Understanding in sound, so to speak. Unable to fully comprehend, but understanding in the sense of experience. We are able to see what is set out before us, but everyone sees something different.

As usual, I fully agree with your ideology on the sidelines there.

  • Glad to see that you are still making videos!!

This video, to me, is more powerful than those with lyrics, or words, or thoughts. Why? Because words bind us to what is written. Most people do not look past the lyrics of a song, into the meaning, or thought process, or even the negative space in between the words.

  • this was very very awesome, like all your fanvids. i haven't seen it with the original song, but i think 34 ghosts fits very well. it's... dream like.

    *favourites*

  • I'm fan of your fanvid love this music !!!

  • I can't believe no one's commented on this yet. Your fanvideo's never cease to amaze me and the comments you have (or perhaps notes is a better choice word)in the corner always seem to have great care taken in them. It seems obvious to me that you truly think before just writing anything down. Well done!
