In Nov. 14, 2005, Namtso Lake in the Tibet Autonomous Region was selected as one of the five most beautiful lakes by Chinese National Geography magazine. Namtso Lake (meaninNamtso Lake:Namtso, another holy lake in Tibet, is located near Damxung. 4718 meters (15475 feet) above sea level and covering 1900 square kilometers. It is considered one of three holiest Tibet lakes. Sapphire blue lake is fed by five inlets. It is the highest salt lake & it is the 2nd largest salt lake in China, after Qinghai Lake.
