@tenedria Part 1 The Salk vaccine, or inactivated poliovirus vaccine (IPV), is based on three wild, virulent reference strains, Mahoney (type 1 poliovirus), MEF-1 (type 2 poliovirus), and Saukett (type 3 poliovirus), grown in a type of monkey kidney tissue culture (Vero cell line), which are then inactivated with formalin.

the polio Vaccine was made using the proteins monkeys had in their stomach. They attached the weakened polio virus to it. There was some restrictions over the kind of monkeys that could be used to avoid contamination but it seems there is a possibility that a scientist broke the rule using Africa's chimps.

@tenedria Vaccines aren't made with blood, and there is simply no correlation to HIV or AIDS with any vaccine. That's just rubbish!

Agh they also say AIDS might have been spread in Africa from a vaccination campaign against polio. The vaccines were contaminated.

I've only been vaccinated once since age six (1976). I deliberatly ran across a very busy six lane arterial road in one continous motion to avoid a school based polio shot in August 1982 (Year 7). Despite this an my love of all Andy Griffiths (Australian children's book author) books (including the "Bad Book"), I still believe in vaccination in some capacity.
