This video announces the 3rd, 2nd, and 1st place winners of the 2011 L.A. County Fair Marching Band Competition.

Santiago High School Sharks Marching Band won the 2011 Competition with a cash prize of $5000 and a spot in the 2013 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade.

Riverside King High School Kingsmen Band & Color Guard came in 2nd place with a cash prize of $3000.

And Kaiser High School Catamount Pride Band & Pageantry came in 3rd place and was awarded a cash prize of $2000.

All three of these groups performed exceptionally well, having put on great shows for all of us to enjoy. Congratulations to all 3 performing groups. To be in the top 3 out of 30 plus competing bands is something to be very proud of. Congratulations once again.

  • All three of these great groups should have been let to the Tournament of Roses Parade.

  • @polarbears432 I agree with your statement. All 3 of these groups are very deserving in going to the Rose Parade. I still don't understand why only ONE California high school band gets invited. They should definitely consider 4 to 5 CA high school marching bands every year. Santiago HS did an amazing job and will represent our state very well in 2013, but it would be nice to have other CA high schools join in as well. The Rose Parade Music Committe strongly needs to rethink this.

  • These are always a heart-pounding moment

  • @Music213 i'd also like to see not just southern california bands be in the mix...i don't know if that's a rule or anything since i haven't read up on the event itself but it'd be nice to see some Northern California bands jump in the mix.

  • @Music213 I agree and the fact that California is the State that hosts ToRP we should be more well represented. And we have such a rich history of amazing parade bands.
