http://www.creatingafamily.org/ How can parents help their internationally adopted kids develop their cultural identity. What does the latest research show? Is it really necessary, and if so, whats the best way to help our kids develop a sense of cultural identity. What is enough and how much is too much emphasis on cultural identity.
why don't some adoptive families refuse to teach their internationally ( or transracially) adopted kids about their culture? don't Americanize them.
don't adopt a kid from Ethiopia and choose to raise them in a small, mainly whtie town in the middle of Utah. your love may be colorblind, but the world isn't. racism still exist. I have nothing against international/transracial adoption, but i think that if you decide to adopt from a different ethnic background, you should live in a diverse area.
