Let's take a look at some excellent options for store bought foods that are great for storage and for backpacking, camping, or just as a supplement in your survival backpack. I will also show you my method for creating a self contained meal. This video is part 1 of 2.

  • great video man. ive learned so much from you and your videos. Question for you....what about 4 cups of whole wheat floor in a ziplock bag and 4 cups of oatmeal in a ziplock bag and 4 cups of vegetable protein which weighs nex to nothing. as well as 4 cups of rice. takes up a little room but does the trick. i take these on any trec i go on. Floor good for making Banock and the vegetable protein can be mixed with it. the oatmeal is quick and easy and rice make a good meal.

    Thanks, great videos!

  • Great info thank you air sharing. I used to go with the ocean spray type package drinks too until I tried a mio liquid water enhancer. They taste great. It's 24 servings in a tiny bottle so less space taken and trash is cut back a little as well.

  • I saw this video first and trying to mold my BOB food wise around your's.Thanks sooo much for the info!!! I also added a few small bags of hard candy(peppermints and butterscotch flavors). Great job.

  • Like the idea that there is no cans or glass... Tuna is great for proten

  • i would substitute chicken for tuna which can be bought canned. Cooking can be magickal. My idea of backpacking involves a lot of travel in a 5th wheel or other vehicle. But what I can put in my walker is a good thing too. A friend of mine and I had a financial crisis and we ate our camping food and survived until next pay day,

  • Good stuff, i was considering mre's but you have swayed me.

  • Keep in mind.... the dates on packages are almost always "best used by" dates, not "if you eat this one second after this date you will die a horrible death" date.

  • Oops sorry your tubas expired!

    Y did I watch this?

  • @MyBigThing2010 and it way cheaper....

  • you can vaccum pack your own peanut butter too....cut the corner off an squeeze to eat.....kinda like the peanut butter version of gogurt....plus you dont need a utensil and you can eat it if your hands are dirty...hope that helped...good vids dude
