A result of a rejected egg, was rescued from the bottom of the cage and placed in incubator to hatch two weeks later.
This is a 1 day old zebra finch chick being hand fed with a tooth pick.
I have raised many finches this way and they all turn out very tame and loving,
Please do not try hand feeding without knowing what you are doing, it is a huge commitment, and requires intensive time and effort.

  • what are you using to feed the finch? so i can feed my little guys

  • @MyXboxFreak "exact" handfeeding bird formula, its made by kaytee and should be at most larger pet outlets or online

  • my finch layed 4 eggs and 2 ended up on the floor broke, however the 1st one to hatch was finch until the parents began pecking at it and it ended up dead, the other one hatched aswell and was pushed out, i put it back in and it was pushed out again and was missing a foot, i set up a brooder box and its a little warmer than 90 degrees, i think it will be able to walk when its grown despite its missing foot, what should i do at night wake up every 30 mins to feed it? i really want to save it

  • every 30 min for they first few days then every 2 hours should be ok

  • okay...my 1 day old chick is regected too,

what should i do ??? plz help me

i don't want him to die...

  • you should do nothing except a drop of water the first 24 to 48 hours , the chick needs to absorb it's yolk sac, but after that use a commercial hand feeding formula. and you need to keep it quite warm and fairly moist the first week ( my other video on how to make a incubator should help")
