The Midwest Multi-Fly is a multi-engine radio control event held the first weekend in September at eh Central Iowa Aeromodelers' field. Here is a clip from this year's event featuring Dwayne Fosseen and his B-29, and Wendell Maakestad with his B-17. Bombs Away!

  • No, not really. Still interested, but no way I have the time any more. And I can't stand the 3-d electric stuff. Give me a glow .60 with a tuned pipe, and a fast groovy-flying airplane, and I might reconsider. Not much of that around any longer.

  • @boulderdsvo I remember seminole valley. We have a new field now. Still flying today?

  • Yeah, I grew up in CR. My dad and I were Skyhawks members, between about 1975 and 1981. We had a great field at Seminole Valley Park. Wendell was one of our instructors, as was Dale Fry, and a few others I can't remember right now.

  • @boulderdsvo Did you live in Cedar Rapids? I'm in the Cedar Rapids skyhawks with Wendell, great pilot, and great instructor.

  • The mustangs would have to be pretty small, to be scale with these. BTW, Wendell was one of my RC instructors MANY years ago, when I was a teenager.

  • it would have been awesome if there was a couple of p-51 mustangs flying with the b-17
