I wouldn't be too quick to mock his store story, Cenk. The sheer variety of food that we have in this country does amaze and overwhelm people from other countries sometimes. I've heard accounts of people who've spent decades in poorer countries trying to shop here and giving up, overwhelmed by how much damn food (and choices related to it) that we have.
@NowKillYourself Um, try again. During "g-dubya"'s presidency, the years with the highest deficit were 2004 with a $412 billion deficit (due to the two wars in the middle east) and 2008 with a $458 billion deficit (due to the economic crisis which Bush was unable to handle). This translates to 3.48% and 3.18% of the GDP respectively. In his first two years, Obama ran up a deficit of $1,413 billion and $1,293 billion, or 10.0% and 8.9%. The debt when Obama entered office was $10.6 trillion.
I don't think the problem of Hurricane Katrina was "too little government" or "too much government." The government was not applied correctly. Rescue workers were not deployed fast enough. Infrastructure was inadequate for the forces the hurricane brought (which, granted, were greater than anyone had anticipated until the storm was imminent). In this way, the solution is neither the creation or deletion of government, but a reevaluation of how it is being managed and spent.
The Turk thinks govt needs to be bigger...lol tell that to the 14 trillion dollar debt buddy...How bout don't build a damn city in a bowl surrounded by water.

@MIDWEST507REPIN A lot of that 14 trillion debt is from two unfunded wars in the middle east, courtesy of our last president, g-dubya!
