Treesitters and Saving the Oak grove trees at UC Berkeley

Tree sitters have roosted in the trees since December of 2006. Coverage was taken on Sept. 1, 2007, day of the game between Tennessee and UCB, when 70,000 fans passed by the grove.


The TaoLive press presents interviews by Assistant Chief of Police, Mitch Celaya, and supporters and detractors of the tree sit. The TaoLive sees this treesit as part of a larger issue-- that of a wave of Americans taking part in environmental movements sweeping the country.

From what I understand the university owns the land so they can do what they want with it.

Still, they should find another solution to the stadium. Besides building on a war memorial and wildlife corridor, building on a fault line can just be unsafe.
