The stuff on the top is NOT alive. It's bonito flakes, flakes of tuna fish. It's thinner than tissue paper and the heat makes it move because of the steam.

I found a great Tapanyaki place in Brisbane in the Queen street mall, i got the Takoyaki and my friend got an okonomiyaki. One of the best thing's i have ever tasted. Do not EVER pass up one of these! JUST AWESOME!

@Sandy33569 Yeah... those fish flakes aren't alive! The Japanese use dried Bonito fish as a seasoning in soups and on top of dishes. Paper thin pieces are shaved off the fish (it's solid like a block of wood) and either boiled up or sprinkled on stuff.

Looks realy tasty.......must be delicious...THX4video:-)

i'm too hungry for this :(

You're pretty close, it's just the heat from the grill. Those flakes are like paper thin so they move very easily.

You need to stop making this "Food and eating in Japan" playlist.
They are making me drool all over my nice keyboard :C.

@Sandy33569 It's possible the heat or the sodium inside the sauce is making them move.

Please stop posting these "Food & eating" videos. They are making me drool all over my new computer >:U.

I do hope those fish flakes just have a breeze on them that's making them move..How could it be that they'd still be "alive" and move like that if it's not just a breeze on them?? O.o
I've eaten fish flakes before on some rice and it tasted good, but I don't know about moving fish flakes if they're still "alive" lol
