not to be surprised, at the time the caparo was released, an F1 had more than 800 bhp which is about 300 more bhp than the caparo and could reach 350 km/h while the Caparo can only reach 320 km/h. The Caparo is a NEAR F1 street legal car, its right between a Hyper-sports car and an F1 car. Now if you compare it with an Indy car it would be a pretty close competition.

@neoxxx297 I feel like the differentiation between "Italian luxury" and "French luxury" (I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt and assuming you meant "French" when you said "European") is semantic at best.

The point I was making was that the Veyron has a luxurious interior, swathed as it is in leather and brushed aluminum. Regardless of who designed it and where they're from, the fact remains that the Veyron is a luxury (but not just a luxury car). The T1 is just a street-legal race car.

@Ishatawk Caparo made this car just to make a near f1 or indy type car for the road and they succeeded magnificently. And sorry to burst ur bubble but the bugatti veyron isnt all the creature comforts of the luxury italian it is because its not italian one its european and two bugatti is owned by Volkswagen

You said a F1 car is just a little faster then a the Caparo a F1 car went round the top gear test track in under a minute the Caparo went round in 1 ten i make the F1 a lot faster ten sec per lap thats a lot faster.

Neither. On top speed alone, the Shelby SSC Aero is currently the fastest production/street legal car in the world, with a top speed of 257mph. The Caparo, however, is built purely for the track and therefore has stiffer suspension and is more responsive and agile as well as easier to brake and accelerate in the corners.

Despite only being the SECOND fastest production car in the world now, though, remember the Veyron has all the creature comforts of the luxury Italian it is.

Originally they had planned at supercharged 2.4 liter v8 which I believe was derived from a motorcycle engine but then they switched to a 570 HP 3.5 liter detuned indy v8.
