Really super book Tracy! I cried alot with BOTH of the heroines! You and Barbara Kingsolver are light-years ahead of any current male writers with this new "close friend" historical technique! I must say however that Barbara's plot dev. in "The Lacuna" ties in with huge questions of RIGHT NOW, in a very much-needed way. Should the "deconstructive", outweigh the emotional? Russel & Joyce Carol might think so - how about you?
