Destination: Hive Mind

Communication is one of the greatest aspects of humanity. We are drawn to technologies which allow us to communicate faster and more easily with greater numbers of people. We've come a long way since the first telegraph machine. Now we live in an interconnected world where social nets and wireless communication are the norm. As technology improves, personal privacy will break down as new implantable devices allow us to share our senses and be connected 24/7.

At some point, the boundaries between peoples minds will become ambiguous. Connected minds will be broadcast and received by massive nets of people. Our individuality will be marginalized as people become mere nodes in a hive mind culture. We are well on the way. For better or for worse, this future is very likely. Is this hive-mind-being the next stage of human evolution?

I don't mean to piss on your parade but every group, church, experiment, friendship I have ever been associated with has always ended in fail because of greed. Someone always has to be the black cloud over any movement towards perfection and nirvana.

It isn't really about what works or doesn't work.. It's about how human beings are evolving. It's happening before our eyes. We could very well be one mind in the next 100-200 years. Acting like a superorganism

It's baby steps now, but look where it's headed. Just in the past few years, look at texting, for example. Some teens will send 30,000 a month. That is essentially INSTANT thoughts, communications, being relayed. Imagine when technology can actually connect our BRAINS together like that, and ACTUAL THOUGHTS can be instantly communicated, just be thinking it. You have hit the nail on the head here, and I can't believe we as a society don't see how clearly this change is coming.
