Willie had a master key. The fire exits were not locked! His key was useless! That's why he has it today. If it was saving lives, somebody would have taken it away from him when they sent him downstairs.
He's probably been approached. His story has probably been rejected because it doesn't add up.

There was no shortage of heroes on 9/11, and no shortage of hero stories. I would believe he might have been approached. I doubt anybody would want to deal with him because his story doesn't add up. It's impossible.

Do you think the people were locked in, trapped behind locked fire exit doors? That would have been a scandal. There would have been lawsuits.
Mr. Rodriguez never tells us who credits him with these hundreds of rescues. Why won't the grateful rescuees thank him? What's wrong with them?
If Willie's key was of any use at all, the firefighters would have taken it away from him when they told him to go home.
The fact that he has the key today proves it was useless.

Willie has repeatedly claimed (to Dutch TV, to C-Span) that he went up the stairs opening doors, "Letting people out." That is a lie. The people were not locked in. The doors were not locked from their side, but only from the stairwell side.
If his key was of any value at all, the firemen would have taken it away from him when they sent him downstairs. The fact that he has it today proves it was useless.
