Remember that the phrase "doko desu ka" can be used to ask about noun , so that means a person, place or thing!

Extra example sentences using today's expression

1.neko wa doko desu ka? (Where is the cat?)
2.yamada san wa doko desu ka? (Where is Mr. Yamada?)
3. otearai wa doko desu ka? (Where is the restroom?)
4. anata no ie wa doko desu ka? (Where is your house?)
5. kuruma wa doko desu ka? (Where is the car?)
6. kaban wa doko desu ka? (Where is the purse?)
7. kamera wa doko desu ka? (Where is the camera?)
8. ginkou wa doko desu ka? (Where is the bank?)
9. kuukou wa doko desu ka? (Where is the airport?)

  • Many times I listen to japanese people say: "Doko ni arimasu ka?" Arimasu because the object doesn't live. So why we put just "desu" and no "imasu/arimasu".???

    Another question: why we just say "Doko desu ka" and don't use "Doko ni"??

  • So if "koko desu" is a way of saying it's here...THe whole sentense whould be kaban wa koko desu, right? So is it correct to us the sentense Watashi wa koko desu! To tell someone that you are here?
