I recently visited Lyme Regis England. Like all good hams I took along my wireless kit. I setup my FT-817 and MP-1 vertical antenna and worked some PSK-31 DX.

I shot this with my Canon SD750 digital still camera using the video mode. It worked pretty good. Several times I had to empty the memory card into the laptop.

Enjoy the UK singing birds!

  • Another great video. I've wondered how the Acer Netbook would work the digital modes. Looks like it worked them pretty well. It was one of your videos that helped me get on PSK31, and I've since branched out to other digital modes. Keep the videos coming!

  • @RedStickHam Works OK fine! Randy

  • Great video, bring back memories of my ham days :) - Ian ex G7OMZ

  • @ianchard Get you license and join us!

  • @K7AGE unfortunately I lost both my licence and my exam pass certificates in a house move, and the authorities can find a record of neither, despite the fact that no-one else has held my callsign. That was several years ago and I've kind of lost interest since then... but still interesting to watch you :)

  • @ianchard Hope you get back radio active

  • Fantastic Keep up the great work, its great to have such an informative and enthusiastic mentor.

  • FT817 is only a "toy" rig, despite that it is one of my favourites... so much in one box. fantastic for portable use.

    Excellent video.
