Lakers Fan Taunting Bill Simmons at Game 7

I've been a fan of Bill Simmons, aka "The Sports Guy" for well over a decade.

But he's a total Boston homer and his anti-Kobe grudge goes too far, and I had the chance to gloat a little at Game 7. I got a little excited, but hey, consider the circumstances.

Bill can talk about Kobe going 6 for 24 in game 7 all he wants, but that doesn't diminish the fact that he went 29/6/5.5 through the playoffs, 29/8/4 through the Finals, all on a bum knee and a broken finger, with virtually no rest since the summer of 2007. Only a jaded cynic would belittle his accomplishments, or try to insist that KB24 is still well behind Tim Duncan in the pantheon.

Right now, the only number that matters is this: 5.

As in 5 NBA Championships.

Bill, even Larry Legend (3 championships) looks up at Kobe in the pantheon. Time for you to as well.

@WrestlingBC12 The Lakers drafted Magic Johnson and took a chance on a young Kobe Bryant fresh out of high school. Orlando lowballed Shaq and the Lakers were able to offer him a bigger contract after clearing cap space. Pau Gasol is really the only one who was acquired for peanuts. But even then, it's not like he was considered a superstar or anything. Hell, it wasn't even until Kobe elevated his game that he became a "star."

Bill Simmons is a piece of shit. But then again so are 80% of Laker fans. And if it wasn't for LA stealing smaller market teams stars and giving them crap or nothing in return, they'd never win any titles in the modern era. But I guess who can expect the Lakers to build their own championship team through the draft and wait their turn when there's Chris Paul and Dwight Howard to try and steal away for peanuts
