she really slapped him--didn't fake it (there's a way to do it), sound not dubbed in--you can tell. neither was fond of each other. Flynn terrified of this scene as he had ear problems.

Not true at all - She didn't landed the extremely heavy slap with heavy rings on all her fingers because he was hours late every day and kept the whole set waiting. In those days Errol was not tardy - as later It was no secret that she didn't wanted Errol Flynn to be the Lord Essex she wanted Lawrence Olivier as her partner. For that reason she hated him and her revenge was to slap him when she had the chance. It was the scene that gave her the opportunity to express her ill-tempered manner.
