On a rainy and cold Monday night in Washington, DC with an awful traffic situation... Bebel Gilberto takes us to heaven with her beautiful voice and music. What a great band she had.
Born in NYC but carioca "da gema" Bebel Gilberto has the best of the best in her blood and she is keeping that tradition alive quite well. What a talent.
Closing the night with this AWESOME song she wrote with Cazuza and De (Barao Vermelho's original bassist, which was Cazuza's first band). This song is also included in a great "Red Hot + Rio" CD for a contemporary tribute to the Bossa Nova sound.

Lucky for you, just when the late fall weather is changing from fair to freezing, 9:30 Club got Bebel Gilberto and her blend of Brazilian bossa nova and Latin pop to heat things up.
Daughter of Brazilian Father of Bossa Nova João Gilberto and singer Miúcha, Gilberto takes her parents musical styles and combines them with upbeat modern pop. Gilbertos latest album,
All in One, is the culmination of her musical lineage and her own touches, and was released on Verve Records, the same label that released much of her fathers music. As easy as it is to point to her familys history, Bebel Gilbertos live show deserves the true focus. Her energy and passion are unmatched, and her band can get even the most soulless person dancing long into the night. Carnival doesnt begin until January, but this November, Bebel Gilberto will make sure you get a great head start. - 9:30 Club
