This is the second banjo to feature the theme of Prague Castle where Douglas Unger of Peninsula, Ohio resided as an artist in residence for a summer. He has been building banjos for 40 years and is recognized as the greatest builder ever of open back style banjos. His pearl engraving is finer than any of the old masters. He makes a banjo that can be treasured for a lifetime. This instrument is a custom "electric" style harkening bank to the Fairbanks banjos of the last century. It features a new rim with perfect reproduction hardware and the classic, "scalloped" Whyte Laydie tonering. Additionally, the rim is bound in hand cut triangles of pearl and tortoise.
