This is Offenbach's own, original finale for the Giulietta act, which is far superior to any other "alternate" ending proposed by those who either were not aware of its existence or felt that they could do something better. Nothing is better than the composer's original intentions, and these wonderful students at the AVA prove this. Tragic that, until recently, this magnificent piece of music had not been heard since it was rehearsed art the Opera-Comique in 1881, over one hundred years ago.
