  • sure, but virtualizations software have some performance issues

  • Im going to by purchasing a Macbook pro soon & Id like to know if the the bootcamp preinstalled will be running Xp or Vista?

And would yo have to install your own version of an antivirus and firewall software or will it be preistalled?

  • You have to install your copy of BootCamp with the Leopard installation DVD and the version of Windows you want. You have to install your antivirus.

  • If you need a MAc, then you need OS X, a Macbook with Vista is no different to a Vista laptop if you use vista all the time

  • Would like to add:

Boot Camp software is a softwarepart of Leopard. All Windows- drivers are available on the OX-X Install DVD and install from there.

You need only the original versions of Microsoft OS. Minimum XP SP II.

  • Both OS run in native mode. You can adjust the current startup volume in the preferences of Mac OS and the default settings of Vista.

The Mac will boot automatically in the desired OS.

There is no slowdown in a HD.

For Vista this is a normal PC.

With the new MacBook's a fun.

  • Im a complete pc user, but fo rmy uni course in fashion I need to have a mac ideally, so, if I were to buy a macbook, and install vista on it, could I use it in vista all of the time?? like, is it easy to use vista on the mac on a day to day basis? and does it slow the hard drive down alot?

    Thanks

    Kay x

  • PLESE HELP . I bought today a macbook air and i want to change all the sytem to Vista. How do i do it? Can i format the hdd and install a fresh Vista? I have the dvd drive.

  • vista says welcome not widows when u login???

  • Okay, for the people that don't know. With the new Macs there is a program called boot camp that basically splits your hard drive into two separate ones. By doing this you can instal windows xp or vista on one of these hard drives while keeping your Mac OS on the other. As we Mac users know, not everything is compatible with the Mac OS, so this is very helpful. If i'm not mistaken the Macbook pros benchmark windows faster than the leading laptops.

  • ok... i installed Windows XP on my Macbook. The main reason is i need use AutoCAD. You make AutoCAD work on Mac OS X, and i will delete the Windows XP right away. The reason i put Windows on Macbook is the compatibility

  • Not a lot of programs can run on Mac OS X. Apple realized that and decided that in order to install programs that don't work for Mac OS X is to install an actual Windows operating system. It can be done via Boot Camp, Apple's partitioning program.

  • its quite easy to install windows on a mac all intel macs have been able to do it
