August 1, 2005 - South Hebron Hills, occupied West Bank.
Israeli soldiers force shepherds from Mfaqqara and At-Tuwani to leave their grazing land. The soldiers attempt to move the flocks off of the land, while the Palestinian shepherds assert their right to remain on the land. An Israeli army commander destroys a map which the shepherds provided to demonstrate their right to shepherd their flocks in this area, according to an Israeli court ruling.
The violent treatment and arrest of one of the shepherds demonstrates the ongoing harassment of Palestinian shepherds, farmers, and laborers as a result of the Israeli occupation.
