Yeah i'm a student and when i heard about the black friday discount i assumed i was going to get an addition discount, but no it's one way or the other. you can't get two discount. i don't understand why Apple are very cheap. so i was going to get my macbook pro yesterday, but i changed my mind and wait for the new model on January 2010.

"MacBooks come with 2 gigs of RAM and they're $999." This DOES NOT say "You got a Macbook for $1200 with 2 gigs of RAM. Do us all a favor and seek mental attention!

If the discount was $200 on a $2000 iMac (10%), I was ready to bite today. However, at only a 100 dollar discount (5%), I'm going to hold off until an i7 model becomes the stnd top end (and not special order).

Speaking of special orders, I'm always wary of that with Apple. The last time I owned a MBP, I went through 5, yes 5, and returned ea one over 8 months. Lots of issues with build Q and power mngt. I could have just imagined the difficulty in swapping a custom built iMac! No thanks.
