New Iraqi Air Force Launches First Air-to-Ground Missile

4 Nov 2009 - The New Iraqi Air Force has a potent weapon in it's arsenal. The AGM-114 (aka Hellfire) is a precision laser-guided munition extensively employed against terrorists and armed insurgents from a variety of airborne platforms. The latest platform in the inventory is the Iraqi Armed Caravan, a specially modified Cessna AC-208 with MX-15D EO/IR sensor / laser designator turret and weapon control system. The newly formed Iraqi Air Force has been rapidly growing since its inception in 2004. This first operational air-to-ground missile shot represents a critical milestone in their ability to defend the proud people of Iraq. The AC-208 shooter aircraft was piloted by an all-Iraqi crew as part of an integrated operational exercise directed by the Iraqi Air Operation Center in Baghdad.
About this video: Footage was collected from a variety of sources including the RC-208 ISR Chase Ship, the King Air 350 ISR battle-damage-assesment aircraft, and 4 high-definition cameras placed at the target area. The target was an empty mobile refrigerator storage container placed on the Al-Asad Air-to-Ground Range in west/central Iraq. Special thanks to the Combat Camera folks who shot most of the footage and all of the forces that worked hard to help make this a success. lol propeller driven plane for the new 2011 iraqi army. What are they suppose to do with this? go back in history and fight world war 2?

Dominican Republic's Air force just got a dozen of the Tucanos, armed with GPS and other precision strike weapons, the USA tried to shove the Texan 2 down their throats too with little success. I know even the US Navy is trying the Tucanos.
