  • Great music, performance and recording... But:

Recorded at the Berlin Philharmonie, 23 October 2011??? So this recording still needs to take place and was put on the net in advance?

  • @bassbonesound This great music is so timeless that supersedes all concepts of time.

  • @PMacnfriends some1 should tell him playing piano doesn't help solving the fat problem ;P

  • This video has the only good looking conductor, and the only fat pianist

  • @halneufmille Actually, I'm not a violinist who actually plays in the Philadelphia Orchestra (how I wish!) But I am a violinist whose director IS in the Philadelphia Orchestra. His wife, also in the Philadelphia Orchestra, is my stand partner. I also attend their concerts quite frequently and I know just from these situations what their opinion of him is. They have spent a number of years looking for a new music director after Eshenbach. Dutoit has been the interim.

  • @noirvalentin Okay....every has a right to their opinion, but you are not being specific. What specifically about his conducting or his interpretation you feel is under par? Because the musicians here, who have a reputation for being rather picky, love him.

  • @Elainelps0421 Great! I've heard highly positive reviews of Yannick's work, but being a violinist myself, I've always wondered how it was to have him as conductor. After a concert or two, what are your impressions?

  • exciting

  • I just don´t feel he´s good for the role. I´ve seen him conduct numerous times (he´s a regular guest of the London PO, also I saw him with the Rotterdam) and this it was quite poor. Very enthusiast guy for sure, but what a confusing way to conduct. Just my opinion of course. I just feel the Philadelphia Orchestra deserves a better music director.

  • @noirvalentin And why is that?

  • @Elainelps0421 I feel sorry for you guys.
