@firechick51 You boarded late because we stopped short of the bridge at 7 am. We did not move until 12:30 pm. Got docked around 1. We sat in the front show lounge until we were allowed to leave the Fascination at 3:30 pm. It was a mess. Did not get on the road back home until almost 4:30.

Crazy. We almost went on our cruise that week, but chose the following cruise because we wanted to go to Key west.So glad we did! Sorry for the people that had to endure that.our cruise, people where complaining because they where inconvenienst having to board late.I would rather get on a ship late than have to go through what you guys did.I know booking our cruises in Oct we chance that very same thing, but it's a chance we take going during hurricane season.we have just been lucky so far.

@coolnice25368 May is the best month to go on any cruise..No threats of Hurricanes in the gulf..That is when I went....Smoooooth sailing...Pool too cold...But calm seas!

Oh my goodness!! they should have stayed in port!! absolutely insane!!

The other cruise ships had later departure times and one was even staying docked over night.

@gestun - sorry about the delay, yes it was. It was the Freedom of the Seas.
I was on this cruise with gestun. Windy weather and then storm coming home. Barf bags attached by elevator buttons. Sick casino workers. Late departure and late arrival due to the Jacksonville Dames Point Bridge. Check the tide charts before booking your date of leaving Jacksonville to make sure you are close to low tide as possible or you will be eating your 8pm dinner in Jacksonville and you will miss your flight to leave Jacksonville.

@Ncharlestun Yeah we live about 45 minutes from the port so we did not have a flight to worry about, but we heard several people having major problems with flights. My wife was in line behind a some high school sports team that was going to have to forfeit a game because they weren't going to make it back in time.

Ha and people on the Freedom of the Seas thought you guys stayed in port. Yeah, never go on a cruise during hurrican season. Never, go during the months of June through November. If you do, you will be playing Russian Roulette.

@MsLeopea Was Freedom of the Seas the other ship that went out into the storm? I know there was a RC ship but do not know which one it was.
