Info:
Just hit my 20th video, and what better song to cover than something by ABR. I knew this song was going to be hard, but I didn't fully realize it until I was playing it in the cover. This song really has it all, solo's, legato runs, arpeggio's, complicated breakdown timings, and therefore it took a while to learn both the lead and rhythm sections. I also toned down the volume in Sony Vegas a little bit in an attempt to reduce the distortion in the sound. Hope you guys like it!

Techniques/Tips:
- Wow, this song is tricky. I'm not really sure what to write here as there are quite a few techniques in the song.
- Practice the legato run with a metronome, its easy to fall out of time
- There's no real easy way of learning the weird timing in the breakdown. Just practice, practice, practice!

Gear:
Guitar: Schecter Solo-6 (Black Cherry)
- Neck pickup: Stock Active Pickup
- Bridge pickup: Stock Active Pickup
Strings: Ernie Ball Power Slinky
Tuning: Drop C (CGCFAD)
Effects: POD X3
- All patch's: Angel P-Ball Tone (reverb on solo's and lead licks)
Video: Pentax Optio 60
Audio Editing: Audacity
Video Editing: Sony Vegas Pro 8

Tabs:
Version 4 by josh-josh-josh is near perfect, and I was quite surprised it only had 3 stars. Some of the fingerings in the solo were wrong but the notes themselves were correct.

  • PLEEZ i need some help r u using metal or distortion????

  • @madeinamerica97 I'm using the PODX3 Live. If you own one I can send you the patch if you want?

  • @Dilpil01 cood u just use a pedal?

  • @madeinamerica97 Well, Ideally you would want to use a 5150 or a VHT amp. Pedal wise, I wouldnt know, I suppose a decent distortion pedal will do the job, but to get the true ABR sound you either need to go get the amps they use or use amp modeling like the POD series.

Awesome work, do you figure this out by ear?

  • @BoganLord all you have to do is just listen to the song alot, breakdowns are something that you need to learn by ear
