Governor Perry was in Big Spring today to help break ground on the Settles Hotel reconstruction.
The hotel has been closed since the 1980s but Big Spring native Brint Ryan acquired the rights to the hotel.
Gov. Perry told us how the Settles would help Big Spring when it re-opens in 2010.
Governor Rick Perry says, "Having this hotel back into its glorious shape that it was in the 1920s and 30s is going to be a great asset to this community."
You might remember that Governor Perry has strong ties to big spring.
He was stationed at the old Webb Air Force Base.
