Yes I'm Ready

A video homage to the wonderment that is Kitty Foyle, Ginger Rogers' classic 1940 weepie. Song is "Yes, I'm Ready (If I Don't Get To Go" by The Chi-Lites.

I thought of this movie the first time I heard this song, and it's almost as if the bits of film organized themselves along the song's storyline once I decided to meld them together into a format like this. I didn't seek to re-tell the film's plot in a linear fashion, but rather to illustrate the song's plot with elements of the film. I hope I did both this beautiful movie and song justice.

And DESERVED it. I always wondered how anyone could've beaten out Katharine Hepburn for her role in The Philadelphia Story, but then I saw Kitty Foyle and understood...it really is a great movie.

This song was actually about Desegregation and bussing in the early 70's. Glad this country has moved forward since those days of overturned busses in Boston.  I remember well the senselessness of it all. Great song though.....
