  • That is so cute. I just got a lutino the other day. Don't think it was hand tamed. I think it's adjusting well. That bird has the cutest voice too. I doubt mine will ever talk but lovebirds are just so cute. I had to get one! Great video!

  • Over the past 10 years I have had 3 lovebirds and they have all learned to talk (all single lovebirds, no pairs). One wasn't hand tamed and she could talk really well. I think if you have just one then it's easier to get them to talk. Halo learned to talk and then I got another lovebird and he learned "pretty bird" and "hop up" from Halo.

  • how many days so the lovebird can talk? and can it say long words?

  • She just picked up words that we say to her a lot. She was about 6 months old when she really started to talk. She can say short words and some phrases. She can say pretty bird, hop up, what are you doing (and whatcha doin), stop it, hi baby, a-choo (imitating a sneeze), and if you say "beep beep" to her she'll say it back to you.

  • dont lovebirds talk that clear because i got one and it says all type of things but it sounds like its just squeaking it or is that how they talk?

  • Yeah they tend to squeak words for the most part..they can't talk as clearly as larger parrots like macaws or african greys, but they try!

  • I love her! My little lovebird isn't a talker. She just invented a language and we learned what she was saying. She does make smoochy noises all the time though. My vet asked, "Have you been kissing on this bird?" (she had a tummy ache), and she said "MMMMMMMBWA!"

  • That is so cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

My hand-raised love bird says 2 things "hello" and "I love you!"

Do you know what breed she is as mine looks exactly like her but I don't know the breed I haven't seen them before!

  • That's not always true. I have two together and one says "Stop it" all the time.
