Hi StealthFR, launched from the shoulder, just beside the start of the steep section to the top. No need to go any higher - if it's soarable then launching from the shoulder is fine and if not, well ... it's a long hike up for a 5 minute glide back to base.

Hi trekker2478. You can do the training here in Ireland (check on the IHPA website) or you can go abroad. The advantage going abroad is the weather is generally more suitable and you can get through the course in a shorter time. I did most of my training in Spain with a school called FlySpain and had a great time out there. If you decide to go ahead let me know how you get on. Good luck.
