Anderson's mom, Gloria Vanderbilt, is known as a famous fashion designer, but to him, she's simply his mom. Anderson answers @ElisaBark's question, "What was it like growing up with a famous fashion designer as mother?"

As he gears up for his new daytime talk show (premiering Sept. 12), Anderson is taking your questions. To ask him a question, go to http://www.andersoncooper.com

  • Maybe I'm just perverted, but I now have the mental image of a teenaged Anderson and his brother just staring at everyone's butts as they walk by. For research purposes, of course.

  • i've never been so attracted to someone my father's age. i almost sympathize with courtney stodden.

  • Anderson Cooper is so so awesome!!!! I like his glasses too B)

  • @Shelby596 Exactly, and that's exactly why he is so inspirational and admirable.

To add to that, when one realises that he COULD actually have used his privileged upbringing to get to where he is, but purposefully didn't- that makes him even more exceptional.

  • @spotlightman1234 ---I'm a 39 year old woman.....he is incredibly hot and funny. He's popular with the female audience....period.

  • He must have been a cut nerd when he was growing up!LOL!!!

  • @Foreshadow44 You make now sense. Yes, there are vast educational disparities in the U.S., but Cooper made his career the old fashioned way and going to Yale had nothing to do with it. He couldn't even get an entry level job at ABC News. He had a fake press pass, a borrowed camera and more guts than anyone and HE made his way into the world. To give his privileged upbringing the credit is wrong, shortsighted and very presumptuous of you.

  • This video is most popular with:

    Female 45-54

    Female 55-64

    Male 45-54

    I figured.

  • This is why people don't want to provide higher education 'for free' because parents who make more like Coopers mom want the privelage of sending him to a 'better' school and it is him, not another child, now in the position he is. Yes he has talent and ability but so could a lot of other kids given similar opportunities. So Cooper you should take special joy in paying taxes for your privileged position in life, not simply your job. Thank life itself, not God, for the circumstances of your birth

  • Your Mom is Hysterical!! I Love the clips on You Tube, The Best is The Mothers Day One!! Classic Mom:) and The Birthday Message!! I could watch over and over::))

I know "Personal Life" hasn't been Easy for Either of you!! But, Each of you "Braved the Storms" and Now Enjoy Life!!

  • I am sure his mother was an inspiration to him to rise above the fact that he was a child of privilage. Gloria Vanderbilt was from a very wealthy family, yet she worked in many different areas and fields for all of her life, and never behaved like a dillitante. That is a very admirable trait that I feel Anderson inherited from her.
