how about explaining the importance of being able to full sweep I.e. downstroke on the d string and then a downstroke on the g string followed by an immediate upstroke on the same g string. Like the Master does in "BIGFOOT" (Alcatrazz no parole from rock 'n' roll) as a prelude to his awesome solo.
this technique is also used by zakk wylde in the "Miracle man" solo. The reason I mention this is because all too often when people learn to sweep they actually "cheat" and pull off instead of picking

Not to sound nitpicky because I'm not trying to be, but either you pick the strings REALLY hard or you've got a extremely sensitive microphone there. It was picking up every pick scrape and string pop, though your tone cut through it without any problem. This was a really good lesson, though. This is the kind of thing I've been looking to learn about and work on.

@nukem001 practise scales or solos at slow speed then when you can play it 100% increase the speed. OR, play the solo faster than the original and then slow down to the right speed
-
how did you build that left hand speed?

@osamabinladen1000 a pedal point is a melodic device where one note remains constant as the others change.
Do you strictly alternate pick??

@flashpadxxx
Hello man
Yeah as far as i know i always alternate pick. Ive never really thought about it i just do what feels natural which for is pretty much alternate all the way. Just look at a lick and try and play it without thinking about it then the correct technique will come naturally to you.
