Short answer is that it's a Cminor. Long answer is that we're in open C tuning (CGCGCE), with a capo at the third, and fretting the 9th fret from the capo (so the 12th fret overall) on the fifth and sixth strings, letting the others ring. Try moving that shape around and it should mostly come together by itself. I don't know how MK actually plays this, mind - it may not even be the same tuning...

Actually, on "sailboats" it's A flat major - fretting at the 5th fret from the capo. That passage alternates between chords IV and VI...
