@silentsuffering Even nuclear plants, which produce vast amounts of thermal energy, use steam generators to convert this heat in to electricity, as do a number of solar plants that don't rely upon the photovoltaic effect. Steam is an integral part of modern society. It's the medium between heat and electricity.

@silentsuffering Roughly 60% of the U.S.'s energy is supplied by coal. This coal is burned and converted in to thermal energy which is converted in to mechanical energy via a steam turbine and then converted in to electrical energy via a generator. Roughly 90% of all electricity in the U.S. comes from steam turbines. So no, it's not all that difficult.

@KeberosSephiroph ok gotta chime in here I know you left this 3 weeks ago and probably don't care any more but while it's possible to run a computer on steam do you have any idea how much fuel that would take and how dangerous it would be? steam power at it's best is EXTREMELY inefficient.

Is there any other The Cog is Dead song better or at least nearly as spectacular as this?
-
@KeberosSephiroph Well, I don't mind a few people getting a little offended. If they can't take that much, they won't survive in the dark, cold, cruel depths of the internet.

@sanktmikael While I'll admit, it is a little impersonal, I find in my personal experience that it offends far fewer people than a gender mix-up. But I can respect if you prefer the method you're currently using. It is your choice.
Firstly, this song is awesome.
Secondly, is it me or does "Oh Mr Hamilton" sound like a seventies sitcom?
