If you don't hold up the consumer economy by shopping religiously, they might have to adjust by selling products you actually want (independently of being told to buy them) at prices you can afford! If that happened, then the people selling the stuff would have to settle for being mere millionaires, and would have to make an actual contribution to society! Dogs and cats living together!
