  • I don't normally install shingles but I don't think he's going too slow, if you have a need to go faster than that, I can see why so many new construction roofs fail within the first 7 years, you have Speedy Gonzalez from Guadalajara shooting nails through the roof and subsequently through the shingle. But that's what it comes to in this country how much $ you can make, not if you can make a quality product.

  • i have been a roofer 4 10 years and im only 26 if you want to make money you need to move FASTER.

  • you can nail fast an do a good job aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • ive shingled for 35 years, and this guy is smart..he's working sitting down. All these young prima donnas that work bending over wont be able to stand up straight in 10 years.

  • Good thing the video sucks. His stagger is retarded and his gun should not have a guide because you'd being so slow. Just requires a bit of skill to keep straight course lines!!

  • For those booing about speed and accuracy...please take that vast knowledge and prettyboy speed over to a volunteer program and lend your talent. Help fix your community in your spare time.

  • bostich guns.. jokes

  • @Moraleg1 Use a gun. Hand nailing takes forever and with sheathing there is too much bounce when nailing. I think a gun does a better job.

  • 5 nails is pushing it, this roof will blow off with 4, and he IS going super slow, I hate when new guys skuff up shingles from staying in one spot too long on a hot day, a good roofer can go fast and do a quality job. I don't care for the eyeball work he's doing either, that nail gun should have a guide on it, that keeps your row from dipping and having to be measured and chalked as much.

  • Doing just 5 nails is pushing it, this roof will blow off with only 4, and he is going super slow, and slow doesn't have anything to do with quality, sometimes the less time that you spend in one spot the better, I hate when new guys skuff up shingles on a hot day from sitting too long in one spot. A good roofer can do a great job and go fast at the same time.

  • 4 nails in standard application 6 in high wind.
