though Luigi does try to live in his brothers shadow but lately Luigi tends to avoid to fighting or running into danger plus hes more a relaxing housekeeping person (ex. Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga)

A major part of Luigi's character is that he's always in his brother's shadow, and never gets enough recognition:
