I truly don't understand why everyone is hung up solely on the Atomic bombings. The United States had implemented a policy of total war long before August 1945, firebombing Dresden and Tokyo which amounted to many more deaths than the atomic bombs (including residual effects). Both the firebombing and atomic bombing were terroristic at heart, a sacrifice of morals in exchange for ease of success in my opinion.

funny how the US is playing world police, trying to restrict nuclear development in other countries, not even intended to be used as weapons. ironically, the US has countless nukes and is the only country to date to have used it on someone else.

All nukes should be abolished. The fact that people have the technology to build things which simply cause such brutal destruction is discusting. i hope that we never drop another nuclear bomb/missile one anyone ever again, but i do see the reasoning behind the ones in hiroshima and nagasaki. we did warn them to surreder and they didnt. and it was war, so either they died, or soldiers on both sides would die. either way, war sucks and this should not happen again.

Probably the reason why this is so memorable, is not because of how many it killed, but how it did so. Hearing about a military battle and people being boiled from the inside out by a bomb they had no time to prepare for is just disturbing to anyone.
