Updated DayZ Installation (Steam/Retail/Mixed/Beta/Troubleshooting) - With [OCB]Magnet

Hi Guys,

This is an UPDATED version of my original installation video for the DayZ Modifcation for ArmA 2: Combined Operations.

This guide will work for STEAM / RETAIL / DIGITAL DOWNLOAD / MIXED PURCHASE copies of the game as well as resolves most of the issues people have with other methods of installation.

This process shows a MANUAL (the most reliable) install of the mod files and instructs viewers on the use of a launcher (mod manager) as well as installation of the latest ArmA Beta Patch to resolve critical bugs. There is a troubleshooting section at the end that will help you resolve most issues (hopefully).

If you have issues with the mod AFTER you've checked my troubleshooting section please post here or in the DayZ forums and someone will try to get back to you.

UPDATE 28/05/12:

If Beta is not detected by the Launcher navigate to Launch Options and specify the location of the Beta exe - This should be found in Operation Arrowhead-Combined Operations / Expansion / Beta

when I right click arma II operation arrow head there is no option launch arma II combined operations

I did everything like you said and when i hit play game in the launcher i get "operation arrowhead beta executable not specified" how do i fix this?

There is no @dayz coming up under the available addons in the launcher and ive tried refreshing

you can now just search Arma 2 dayZ mod on steam and download that its in the store for free...

I tried it because I never saw the combined ops and when I start up arma 2 operation arrowhead it just says arrow head at the bottom

I've got a problem, whenever I load up Combined Operations it doesn't detect Arma 2 aswell, just CO. What should I do?

you can just open arma 2 oa you have it (it works for me)

Combined Ops just means you have both arma 2 and arma 2 oa. You should be good to go!
