looooooooool i cant believe they cast her as a mexican... her accent is 100 percent spanish madrileño .... omg... really xD her accent in spanish... and in english both are not MEXICAN this is SPANISH from SPAIN NOT THE SAME !!! ugh.. hahaha  !!!

I don't think they cast her "as a Mexican" but merely as a Spanish-speaking immigrant. What's wrong with that? They cast Denzel Washington as an Italian in a Shakespearean play, and none of us gringos complained nada! It's about personality, and ability to play the part.

@liah14 I understand. My fiancee is Ecuadorian, and her accent in both languages is also different. But just as they cast Sean Connery to be Irish, Mel Gibson to be American, Robert Downey Jr. to be British, etc, it's not always a move out of ignorance. Sometimes they just want to put the right actor/actress in the right role.

Paz Vega is amazing and plays this to a tee. I do agree that the difference between Mexico and Spain is vast, but I call it the suspension of disbelief.
