This mahogany Steinway Upright (model K, 52") #96643 was built in the year 1900, and recently underwent extensive restoration at Historic Pianos, completed in September 2011. Many original components were repaired and preserved, including the soundboard, ivory keytops, and most action components. New hammers, damper felts, keybed felts, backcatch leather etc., were installed to replace damaged fabric and leather. The piano now plays very smoothly with a properly rebalanced keyboard and action. The video demonstrates the tone of the instrument, with the amateur pianist restorer playing Anitra's Dance by Edvard Grieg, from his Peer Gynt Suite #1 Op. 46.

What a marvelous restoration job, the restorer did on that Steinway piano. It sounds great! It looks great! He's no rank amateur, though, when it comes to his performance of Anitra's Dance from Edvard Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite.
