Great driver! Enjoyed watching him battle with the Benneton against the top drivers of the day. Short career in F1 due to a helicopter crash. Wish he had more years with a top team!

@happyontheroad i see that makes sense. where you normally expect a 2nd gear to be there is a 1st - reminds me of an old 5spd dog box i had in my scrappy racing car:) (it wasnt technically a racing car but it could only run on circuit so it's, er, racing car)

@furionese I believe he's running a 5 speed dog leg, so hairpin in 2nd, 130R in 4th and chicane in 1st.

il bello di questo video: un motore turbo che da dei calci violenti al pilota che deve gestire la monoposto con una sola mano data che l'altra è impegnata sul cambio. parliamo di vetture da 1000 cv senza elettronica, di vetture con effetti suolo notevoli....era la f1 dei piloti veri, era la f1 per i talenti della guida pura. oggi fanno ridere...hanno salvato la vita dei piloti ma ucciso totalmente questo sport. w i turbo, w le monoposto ed i piloti degli anni 80.

se non avesse fatto l'incidente in elicottero avrebbe fatto una carriera diversa. peccato davvero
