  • true... but the majority of people are not gentle with bits. It's very difficult to be totally soft.

  • my horse is doing this quite better but when i ride i use a bit, sometimes it works to ride bitless but only sometimes and slowly

  • to jessieplum and Sky212 Um certain horses cannot be ridden without a bit, the rider needs to have soft hands and have a connection with their horse but they need to be in control, which is why we use bits

  • I'd love to see anyone ride my horse w/out a bit, lmao! I think bits are only abusive when used incorrectly, inappropriately or w/abuse as the intent.

  • this is a nice video, although i am against all bits. i do believe that in bad hands they are worse, but if looking at the structure of the mouth, it is a discomefort even when just sitting unused, then you neeed to ask yourself, if not using it, why have it and why defend it. you can see my vids, and i will try to get a riding one on there soon. (bitless, bridless) you seem that you are very much a natural, and it is beautiful. keep up the lovely gentle way.

  • That is just lovely. I love seeing people who have such good relationships with their horses.

  • No bits are not horse abuse. It's all in the rider's hands. If the rider rides with tight or hard hands then yes, the horses mouth could be hurt. If you ride with a softer hand then there's no harm done. Most riders, if they tried to ride without a bit would most likely be injured or killed by accident. Nothing is stopping a horse from doing what it wants when it wants =] They have minds of their own sometimes! lol

  • Sorry to say this, but a bit even with light contact is damaging to the horses mouth. This is a fact, proofed by several scientists and they still research this subject further. And my personal question comes now. Why do you still need a bit if your connection is fine?
