This is a short piece I shot and produced for the educational TV station where I work in Edmonton, Alberta. The guy with the Aurora lives here in Edmonton, while the guy with the Waw is in the town of Lacombe. Special thanks to bluevelo (www.bluevelo.com) and Cambie Cycles (www.cambiecycles.com) for putting me in touch with both of them.

  • The WAW is beautiful !!!!!

  • I just built a velomobile from scrap junk at my house, and it rides very smooth! I'm trying to make a body for it like the orange WAW. Awesome video!!!

  • the prices are nuts use cheaper material for god sake!!!!

  • Interesting concept and a neat way to avoid dependence on fossil fuels. It is too bad that more people haven't adopted one until you realize what they cost -- $9,000 to $16,000 - and that there is no place to store a change of clothes suggests that much more needs to be done to make this a viable means of transportation. Too dangerous for highway driving. Only good for short commutes. Impractical, but beautiful. Like most ideals. I hope velomobiles catches on though. Good way to promote health.

  • What a great concept! I wonder if it would be possible to build a higher model for city riding. If so, then I would assume that a delta configuration would be best suited.

  • Very nicely done presentation. As a WAW owner, I can appreciate the nuances mentioned in the clip. The Aurora sure looks wicked with that fighter-cockpit roof on it!

  • Saw this on the website for the station, was linked on Bentrideronline a few weeks ago. Excellent bit, very well done. A great introduction to what a velomobile is and can do.
